Installation & Setup — Ready for Day One
At Infraglow, we believe the experience begins the moment your product arrives. Follow this guide to get set up safely, correctly, and confidently — so your very first session is everything it should be.
🔥 Infrared Sauna Setup
Step 1 — Choose Your Space
- Select a flat, level surface indoors — hardwood, tile, or concrete floors work best
- Ensure adequate ceiling height (minimum 7 ft recommended)
- Choose a space near a dedicated electrical outlet — most units require a standard 120V outlet; larger models may require a 240V circuit
- Allow at least 6 inches of clearance on all sides for ventilation and heat dissipation
- Keep away from direct water sources, though a nearby bathroom is ideal for post-session rinse
Step 2 — Assembly
- Unbox all panels carefully and inspect for shipping damage before assembly begins
- Follow the included panel-by-panel assembly guide — most InfraGlow saunas can be assembled by two people in 60–90 minutes with no special tools required
- Connect interior heater panels and control wiring as indicated — do not force any connections
- Secure the roof panels last and ensure all tongue-and-groove joints are fully seated
Step 3 — First Power-On & Pre-Season
- Before your first session, run the sauna empty for 1–2 sessions at full heat (this burns off any new wood or manufacturing residue — normal and expected)
- Allow the unit to reach target temperature before entering — typically 30–45 minutes for a full preheat
- Set your temperature between 120°F–150°F for a traditional session; far-infrared penetrates deeply even at lower temps
Step 4 — You're Ready
- Bring a towel to sit on, stay hydrated, and start with 15–20 minute sessions before building up to longer ones
- Remove jewelry, keep a water bottle inside, and listen to your body
❄️ Cold Plunge Setup
Step 1 — Choose Your Location
- Cold plunges can be placed indoors or outdoors on a flat, stable, water-resistant surface
- Outdoor placement should factor in shade, drainage, and climate — direct sunlight will work against your chiller unit
- Ensure access to a standard 120V outlet within reach for the chiller/filtration unit
- Place near a garden hose or water line for easy filling and drainage
Step 2 — Fill & Connect
- Fill your cold plunge tub to the indicated fill line using a standard hose
- Connect the chiller and filtration unit per the included diagram — typically a simple inlet/outlet hose connection
- Plug in the unit and power on — allow 12–24 hours for the water to reach your target temperature on initial cool-down
- Target temperature for cold therapy: 38°F–55°F depending on your experience level and protocol
Step 3 — Water Chemistry & Filtration
- Add the recommended sanitizing solution (available through Infraglow) before first use
- Test water chemistry weekly using your InfraGlow test strips
- Maintain proper pH levels between 7.2–7.6
- Run your filtration system daily to keep water clean and clear
- Fully drain and refill every 4–6 weeks depending on frequency of use
Step 4 — You're Ready
- Start with 1–3 minute plunges and build tolerance over time
- Cold plunging is best done after sauna sessions for a powerful contrast therapy protocol
- Never plunge alone if you're new — always have someone nearby your first few sessions
🔄 Contrast Therapy Protocol — The Infraglow Method
For those who want the full experience, contrast therapy — alternating heat and cold — is the gold standard for recovery, circulation, and mental resilience.
| Round | Sauna | Cold Plunge | Rest |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 15–20 min | 2–3 min | 5 min |
| 2 | 10–15 min | 2–3 min | 5 min |
| 3 | 10 min | 1–2 min | Done |
- Always end on cold for maximum circulatory and mental benefit
- Hydrate between every round
- This protocol can be done 3–5x per week for elite-level recovery
🧼 Maintenance & Supplies
Infrared Sauna Maintenance
- After every session: Wipe down interior wood with a dry or lightly damp cloth — do not use harsh chemicals on the wood
- Weekly: Inspect heater panels and connections for any wear; wipe exterior panels
- Monthly: Sand any areas of the interior bench or floor that have absorbed sweat with fine-grit sandpaper — this keeps the wood fresh and odor-free
- Seasonally: Inspect door seals and hinges; tighten any loose assembly joints
Cold Plunge Maintenance
- Daily: Run filtration cycle; visually check water clarity
- Weekly: Test pH and sanitizer levels with Infraglow test strips; adjust as needed
- Monthly: Clean the filter cartridge or replace as recommended
